VERITY 2023 Bioinformatics Course on Natural Language Processing & Knowledge Networks for Clinical Research

VERITY is pleased to announce the upcoming 2023 VERITY Bioinformatics Mini Course: NLP Workshop & Knowledge Networks for Clinical Research. This free course will consist of two 2-hour sessions hosted by VERITY faculty discussing natural language processing, followed by a hands-on workshop using an NLP tool, and a discussion on knowledge networks and application to clinical research studies. When will the course be held?

The course will consist of two 2-hour sessions held virtually (via Zoom). The two sessions will be held on Thursday, June 1, from 1:00-3:00PM ET (Session 1) AND Thursday, June 8, from 1:00-3:00PM ET (Session 2). To view the course schedule, please click here.

Who is eligible to attend the course?

Content is most applicable to junior faculty and fellows interested in pursuing a career in clinical research in adult/pediatric rheumatology or other musculoskeletal diseases. Other faculty, residents, medical students, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and research staff are also welcome to attend.

How much does the course cost?

This course is free!

After the registration period closes, all registered attendees will receive information about how to join the course and any course prerequisites.

What course prerequisites are needed?

After the registration period closes, those that registered to attend the course will receive the course prerequisites that need to be completed before the course. These include program downloads and dataset registrations needed for the NLP workshop. Please note, the tools used during this course require a Windows operating system.
